Peak Design Capture Clip Version 3 Review I have a confession to make. I’ve been a backer of Peak Design starting with the original Capture Clip back in 2012 when they had their first Kickstarter. I got the Capture Clip version 2 when they updated it in 2013. And now in 2017 I backed them again for version 3.?And tonight, as of this writing, late December, 2017, is the very first time I’ve ever used it.?Ever.?Kinda sad huh?
A Photographers Review of the 2016 MacBook Pro with TouchBar I’ve never owned a new Apple laptop. My first foray into the world of Apple portables was a 2006 MacBook Pro that I used at a programming job, and took it when I left in exchange for a bunch of overtime. From there I upgraded by selling the old one and finding a new one on Craigslist. This took me to a 2009, then 2011, and then most recently in 2016 a 2014 15” MacBook Pro Retina. But until two days ago I’ve never had the experience of opening up a brand new (not just “new to me”) Apple laptop.
Pentax HD DFA 24-70/2.8 Real World Review After I got the Pentax K-1 I decided it was time to invest in some of the newly released full frame lenses. The first I got was the Pentax HD Pentax-D FA 24-70mm f/2.8ED SDM WR Lens, a gorgeous bit of kit that I’m happy to put together a “Real World Review” of. This is a big and chunky lens, which is not what Pentaxians are used to with their lovely small and light APS-C lenses, but it’s been the lens that’s on my camera most of the time since I got it, as the 24-70 is the canonical “walk around” lens. But does that come at a price? Read on…
Pentax HD D FA 70-200/2.8 First Impressions I finally broke down and picked up the Pentax HD D FA 70-200/2.8. I took it out for a quick run today at Chilliwack River where there was a kayak race being held. I thought it would make a really good test of the capabilities of this brand new lens from Pentax. I wanted to share a few quick images and some thoughts from the first few photos before a more extensive real world review is posted.

A Real World Review of the Pentax K-1 A real world review of the Pentax K-1 I got my Pentax K-1 last night and have spent the entire day with it, shooting and getting a feel for the camera, and thought the Pentaxians in the crowd might be interested to read a real world review of [...]
David duChemin’s new Book “How To Feed A Starving Artist” – Review This was the review I originally sent back to the folks at Craft & Vision after receiving a review copy of David duChemin’s new book How to Feed A Starving Artist:
Pentax K5-IIs Review I’ve been a Pentax shooter as long as I’ve had an SLR. My dad gave me an old Pentax P30T film SLR in 2003, ten years ago, and I moved up to the Pentax *istD as my first digital SLR a few years later, then to the Pentax K20D) in 2008. At the [...]
