What I love about photography is there’s always something new to experience. This past Saturday, amidst an amazing and busy set of shooting over the weekend (one creative, two boudoir and one product), I was contracted to shoot a Rap Battle. Yes, it’s exactly what you think it is. My coworker Mike (or Blasphem-e as he’s known on the circuit) is a rap battler and I got to see him in action, as well as doing work as an MC. The event was pretty amazing. About 100 people packed a pizza joint in downtown surrey, music was loud, and then two by two the battlers would insult each other in vaguely rhyming verse (sometimes more eloquently than others) and call into question everything from their parents marital status, diet, their reputation with money or what they do recreationally.
You can see more from the battle on the full album on Facebook, and read more about the event at the Event Page. Hosted by Blasphem-e and Ruthless, put on by Where It’s At Entertainment.
