Had the opportunity to shoot the Pitt Meadows Day parade and awards presentation. It was a hot day, something that I didn’t even think about until after I had spent an hour in 30+ weather… in jeans… with no sunscreen. Yea, my head is still flaking from the sunburn 🙁 In my defence, the weather up to that day was really bad, so when I left the house in the morning I expected it would be similarly grey and dull, not clear blue sky and 30+C!
The day started with a parade, the police and fire were all “armed” with water guns, and much water was spilled between them and the kids along the main drag of downtown Pitt Meadows.

After the parade was done, people moved into the park where there was a wide array of vendors and tents with everything from a bouncy castle, to the local (awesome) martial arts school, Yuen’s rabbits, dogs, and those big bouncy balls that they put people into!
This particular pooch looked like he was having the BEST DAY EVER, with non-stop petting and adoration.

And a skate park, where a group of kids were pulling off epic tricks on razor scooters.
The day ended with speeches and various presentations, Miss Pitt Meadows was crowned, the chief of the local Katzie band spoke, as did various dignitaries, including the person of the year.
