A couple of weeks ago I got the pleasure to shoot with the prolific Vancouver model Kaoru, who’s flickr stream is full of amazing images. We set out from downtown Vancouver and ended up on Iona Beach (just outside the Vancouver International Airport), where Kaoru changed into an amazing skin tight leather outfit, whipped out a set of swords, and we proceeded to have a great shoot.
Some of the lighting on the beach was…. “challenging” to say the least. Bright almost-noon sun is a killer for photographers, and with a bit of help from a flash in a softbox to light up the model, a bit of creative use of shadows from the log structure we were shooting near, and a wee bit of help from photoshop and lightroom, and I’m extremely proud of the images that were created.
