Some of the more interesting events I cover is a lot of local Vancouver hip hop artists.  Most shows are pretty damn fun, and at some shows the lighting setup is pretty great.  Fortune Sound Club near Chinatown in Vancouver is one of those places.  Their set up has some great moving coloured side lights that if you can catch them just right, you get a great “rock star spotlight” look.  Combine that with front lights on the stage that you can see the performers without having to use a flash, and boom, some great looks.

Big props to the performers.  I’ve gotten to know them well over the last couple of years and they are passionate artists who really love what they’re doing.
