I photographed Chef Victor Bongo as an assignment for Front Row Marketing.  Victor has an amazingly vibrant personality, and a smile that’s a mile wide.  It was a short shoot, with not a lot done by me, basically set up the lights, chat with Victor and Joe (my tame designer) and then point the camera at Victor.  Twenty minutes later there were peppers being chopped in mid-air, chefs jackets being swapped, wine being served and all sorts of other awesomeness.

For the photographers out there, here’s the lighting setup.  I used the brolly to create a back light to give Joe something to cut Victor out of for logos and design work.  Then camera left and back a bare flash at low power to get a bit of rim light, the main light is an umbrella camera right, and then a softbox camera left to fill in some of the shadows.  Victor is a dynamic guy and it was far easier to add more lights to the scene than try to control his wild enthusiasm and dynamic movements around the floor!
