This year I had the fun of shooting the Canada Day celebration at Heritage Park in Mission (my town). Joanna and a group of amazing volunteers made the whole day come together, tons of booths, activities for the kids, food, a dog show, pony rides, a magician, various dance crews, singers…. the list goes on.
Here are a few photos from the activities this Friday!
There were dancers… these guys were absolutely adorable doing traditional Indian dancing.
I found out that modern dancers make really funny faces sometimes.
But when they weren’t they were doing awesome stuff.
There was a flag raising ceremony. Local MLA Marc Dalton was there to hang out and enjoy the fun as well, and got a great photo with Captain Canada.
The traditional logger show. Same jokes as last year, just as good though!
There was a dog agility course setup, with everything from old dogs to fast dogs to puppies going around.
Not all dogs were part of the course though. Some just looked adorable and hung around.
Various other demonstrations from local clubs were all over.
This tumbler was graceful diving into the mat…
Not all were quite as graceful…. 🙂
Lots of activities for the kids!
The local fire department and RCMP were both out with fun stuff.
The day went off without a hitch (as far as I could tell) and everyone had a blast.
These weren’t fireworks in Mission, as the July 1st evening I was on a party cruise with Where It’s At Entertainment, but it’s hard to end a post about Canada Day without fireworks!
