Since tomorrow is the last day for the Agassiz Tulip Festival, it seemed reasonable to head out to see it with my wife, the dog, and the throngs of other people who had the exact same idea we did. First of all, the dog was the absolute star of the show. Maybe because I’m around him all the time I am unaware about how rare it is to see a standard poodle around, or maybe he is just so damn pretty. We were virtually assaulted by tourists who wanted to take pictures of him, with him, pet him, or just look at him. The same questions and the same answers (10 years old, yes he was just groomed that’s why he’s so soft and fluffy, yes it costs about $90 because we have it done at the groomers), and a constant stream of people around him. You can see just how adored he was here:
There were hundreds of people there, some in the free booties, some dressed up a lot more than I’d expect to wander around a farm field in the depths of the valley. All friendly and happy.
And of course the tulips, the main attraction. They really were beautiful to look at, and because people weren’t allowed in between the rows (or in the field at all in fact) it gave some great opportunities for beautiful images. Here are a few of my favourites.
